Speech Pathology Applied Behavior Analysis Special Interest Group of ABAI

The Speech Pathology Applied Behavior Analysis Special Interest Group (SPABA SIG) is a dedicated group under the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Its mission is to enhance the integration of speech-language pathology (SLP) and applied behavior analysis (ABA) through research, education, and advocacy. SPABA promotes evidence-based practices and supports the professional development of practitioners in both fields.

SPABA focuses on fostering collaboration between SLP and ABA professionals to improve outcomes for individuals with communication and behavioral challenges. The group offers educational initiatives, training, and mentorship, and maintains a database of dually certified practitioners. With over 525 professionals across the U.S. and 19 countries, SPABA actively disseminates information through conferences, social media, and various forums to enhance interprofessional collaboration.
