The symbol of Avastar Assurance is the Niles Michigan Depot, built in 1891-92, as designed by the architects Frederich Spier and William C. Rohn, under the direction of then Michigan Central Railroad Chief Engineer J.D. Hawks. This enchanted depot, featured in several movies over the years, has served continuously as a railroad depot and continues to serve as an Amtrak depot along the Detroit to Chicago route. Our adopted symbol of service represented value then and—over a century later—now, as it continues to serve as a symbol of enduring value.
